According to the 2020 State of Salesforce Data Protection survey results, 68 percent of companies think they haven't lost data...but how can they know for sure?
The short answer is you don’t usually know. Data loss and corruption can often go unnoticed. This is why so few survey respondents, just 13%, know for sure that they’ve experienced a data loss or corruption.
According to the survey results, 33% of OwnBackup customers have experienced a data loss or corruption vs. 12% non customers. Migration Error (7%): Migrations are ideal for moving large volumes of data, consolidating data, and complex transformations, such as transitioning to Lightning. Some risk of incorrect data overwriting exists.
Bad Code (7%): Developers and administrators working on applications, workflows, and system updates can affect data across many different objects in a company’s Salesforce environment. Poorly tested code and a lack of relevant test data can cause serious corruption to data and metadata when the code is released into production.
